An Innovative Roof Top Wind Turbine From Honeywell

Honeywell and Windtronics have developed a new rooftop mounted wind turbine for residential use. This small wind turbine can be mounted on the roof or on a pole. The turbine will generate power in as little as 2 mph or up to 42 mph of wind. The company placed the magnets at the tips of the blades instead of turning a gearbox to create the electricity. Honeywell claims that if you live in a class 3 wind zone that you can capture up to 2000 kWh/yr. The system has a MSRP of $5,995 plus the installation.
